Elan yachts and sailing in Croatia
Croatia is quickly becoming world renowned for its majestic waterways, its picturesque islands and idyllic weather as well as for its ancient seaside towns and fascinating cultural history. It is truly the place to be at the moment and sold to tourists in various travel brochures as 'the way the Med used to be'.

The rally will be part cruise, part race, part sail training (for those who want it) and part cultural experience as the flotilla will move from port to anchorage to port and stopping at some of the most beautiful islands on the Adriatic coast.
The itinerary begins in Split and finishes in Dubrovnik and covers 12 days of sailing/racing and two nights in hotels at our start and finish destinations with an option to extend the stay in Dubrovnik.
Gordon Syme from Yachtmaster Sailing school (based at Royal Brighton Yacht Club)will be providing the racing schedule for the trip and also be available for sailing/racing advice and tips on each crews' yacht for at least one of the days en route.
Within the 14 days overall planned for the trip there are 6 post race or briefing functions which includes food and some drink. The yachts are also partially provisioned and all bus transfers and hotels are pre booked and of the highest quality available.
The yachts to be used are exclusively 'Elan' cruising and performance yachts and this is due to the involvement and coordination of the trip by Jim Sismanes who is the Victorian agent for Elan yachts with an office at Royal Brighton Yacht Club.
It is due to recent visits to the area and the strong presence of Elan yachts on the Adriatic that the idea of running such a trip became an obvious extension of the idea of promoting the Elan brand and providing an exciting alternative to putting up with a cold winter in Melbourne.
For more information on the Croatian yacht rally 2009 ' Premier Yachting' will be holding an information night for all interested sailors and their friends at Royal Brighton Yacht Club on the 15th October from 8PM-in the Olympic room.
