EastSail has taken home 2 Gold Awards in the 2008 NSW Tourism Awards in the categories Adventure Tourism and Unique Accommodation, at the event held in Sydney 20 November.

The Adventure Tourism category was awarded to EastSail for its corporate and incentive sailing regattas and adventure cruises while the Unique Accommodation category was awarded for their overnight indulgence and opulence packages.

These submissions have now been forwarded to compete in the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards which will be announced in Melbourne in February 2009.

EastSail Sails manager, Jane Hardie said: 'We were in a state of shock when we won the first award but to be called up to the podium a second time just 'blew us away'. We are honoured by the recognition that these awards bring and by the support that our industry peers have given us.'

EastSail is located 10 minutes from the Sydney CBD and adjacent to the prestigious Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in Rushcutters Bay. The company was founded in September 1983 and is celebrating its' 25th birthday this year.

EastSail was launched on the same day that Australia 2 won the America's cup, auspicious beginnings indeed for Deborah McCawley and Joe Goddard (joined soon after by Peter Franki). With their passion for sailing they intended to turn their dream of owning a successful sailing school and luxury yacht charter company into a reality.

Their innate sense of adventure, tenacity and determination has led these young entrepreneurs through the twenty five year journey which is EastSail. The company has grown from 2 employees and a single 6.9 metre yacht to a full time staff of 16, over 50 casuals and a fleet of 30 commercially surveyed, high quality performance yachts and cruisers.

EastSail prides themselves in being the Premier Sailing provider in Australia setting the benchmark for other companies to aspire to.

They have worked hard on developing a wide range of products designed to suit individual requirements across all market segments accommodating couples looking for romance and small intimate groups, to client entertainment and incentive events for groups of up to 500.
