EPIRBs needed - can you help?

'406 Epirb shoirtage provides rental opportunities' .
The well-publicised February deadline for the changeover to the 406Mhz system has arrived. With several thousand EPIRBs on back order, the deadline to 'make the switch' has been and gone leaving yachts, fishing clubs, OH&S departments and recreational adventurers without EPIRB protection.

EPIRBhire.com.au have plenty of PLBs (personal EPIRBs) available but are experiencing a shortage of Boat EPIRBs. Demand for temporary coverage until orders are filled means they are putting out the call to borrow any spare 406 EPIRBs out there.

They have been in the hire business seven years, supplying the Sydney Hobart fleet and the boating world with EPIRBs, Satellite phones, GPS and VHF radios and are well known for reliability and service.

If you have an EPIRB (i.e. the floating boat EPIRB) available to loan over the next few months, EPIRBhire will arrange freight, registration, a replacement guarantee and a split of hire incomes.

It is difficult to estimate how many are needed as calls are coming in every day, but as an example, there is at least one fishing club that have 35 EPIRBs on order that won't be delivered for a couple of months. An EPIRB costs $88 for a weeks hire so you do the maths.

EPIRBhire will send you a courier bag so it won't cost you a thing. They will send it back to you when you need it and replace it if it gets lost, broken or turned on.

You can help fellow boat owners and make some extra dollars just by calling Peter or Caroline on 02 9974 4733 or 0415 263 750 or email info@epirbhire.com.au.
