Dickson appointed Manager, Marine Gold Coast
Marine Queensland has appointed Charles Dickson to the position of Manager, Marine Gold Coast effective from July 1.

The appointment follows the formation of Marine Gold Coast as a division of Marine Queensland and the winding up of the earlier entity, Gold Coast Marine Industry Association Inc. (GCMIA).
Dickson, who as President has headed the GCMIA since its formation in 2001, says the marine industry currently faces some of the most challenging issues in recent history.
'The new arrangement will facilitate a more hands-on approach to managing the day to
day operations of the region and will assist in implementing Marine Queensland's wide-ranging business plan over the coming 4 years,' he said.
'It will also provide additional resources to advance and protect the trading and economic development of the Gold Coast's marine manufacturers through the Manufacturers' Division of Marine Queensland.'
Don Jones, Marine Queensland's General Manager believes Dickson's new role will also assist in developing an effective and positive line of communication between Marine Queensland, its members and key industry stakeholders.
'Bringing Marine Gold Coast under the umbrella of Marine Queensland and the national Australian Marine Industry Federation is also in keeping with Federal and State government objectives for the industry's development through the Australian Marine Industry Action Agenda,' he said.
