Delicious new award for Riviera

Australia's largest luxury boat builder, Riviera, has won another national award - this time for food service. The company's Food and Beverage department has won the 'Industrial Caterer' category at the 2008 Restaurant & Catering National Awards for Excellence.

It was no surprise to the 800 workers on site at the company's Gold Coast headquarters. After all, most of them buy meals from the caf? on the 14 hectare site every day and they are discerning taste testers.

The annual award is judged on criteria including service, food, presentation and value for money. The judging system evaluates a minimum of 55 consumer-orientated areas centred around the total dining experience.

The award is the latest of a raft of awards and finalist nominations for the catering team over the past three years. For the past three years they have won the Institutional Caterer and have been finalists in the Corporate Caterer and Alfresco Restaurant categories at the Gold Coast Restaurant and Catering Awards.

According to Manager Renea Robson, the award is a result of pride and dedication among the entire food and beverage team.

'The catering team works hard to ensure we provide quality, healthy food, great variety and value, It is just one of the many ways Riviera looks after the people who work here,' said Renea

Renea was the first certified professional restaurateur and R Restaurant Bar was the first accredited restaurant in Queensland under the new Savour Australia program, an initiative of the Restaurant & Catering Association in association with the Commonwealth Government.

'Our team is very passionate and committed to professionalism and the pursuit of excellence,' said Renea. 'A lot more than just great food creates an outstanding experience. We choose the finest produce, offer superior service and ambient surroundings. The team has proven talent across a broad spectrum and has credentials at catering for all types of events.'

R Restaurant is open to the public Monday to Saturday for lunch and is a unique location for Christmas parties, corporate functions and special occasions.
