While David Trask qualified well in fifth pole position, Bob Trask had his best and fastest lap disallowed by race officials, ultimately lining up on the start pontoon in seventeenth position.

'We had been through a lengthy period without any racing following the fourth round of the UIM F1 series in Russia in June,' Bob Trask said. 'We took advantage of the time to slightly restructure our race team and also re-configure some of our racing set up. Aussie F1 driver and champion Rhys Coles came on board my team as crew chief, so China was his first experience in the heat of battle.'

With Dave Trask in fifth place on the start pontoon and Bob in eighteenth, the team was set for the start. David Trask immediately joined the lead pack and ran in fourth position from the outset. Back in the pack Bob Trask also made up ground very quickly to start his progression through the field.

'The pace at the front was fierce,' David Trask said. 'I was trying to pick a race line which allowed me to stay in touch with the leaders while at the same time keeping out of trouble.'

At no time through the GP of China did Dave Trask drop below fourth place, but as the race laps counted down, he moved into third and finally into second behind race winner and series leader Jay Price from the USA.

For the first half of the 65 lap GP, David Trask actually lead Jay Price around the tight 1.56km course.

'This was a really physical event but we are very pleased with the result and to be on the podium again in China,' David said.

'This is a career best result and I am now running third in the drivers' championship so we definitely have a very competitive race package with the capability of going that one position better.'

At the Liuzhou round David Trask posted the second fastest lap under race conditions. In scoring championship points, he has now scored points in three of the five rounds contested in 2008.

Back in the field Bob Trask was also enjoying a great run. Having started in seventeenth position, Bob worked his way through the field to finish a very creditable eighth and also score championship points.

'We have had a great event in Liuzhou and our new set up has proven to be on the money. We go to the next round in Shenzhen with a great deal of confidence and an expectation of performing even better again.'

At the completion five rounds, David Trask is in third position on the Drivers World Championship Points table, Bob Trask is in 14th position.

The next round of the 2008 UIM F1 World Championship is to be contested in Shenzhen China on October 26th.
