It was tight at the top in the 2009 Moth European Championship sailed out of Horsens Yacht Club

After eight races Swiss sailor Arnaud Psarofaghis grabbed the tightest of victories from Britain's Simon Payne, who won his World title at this venue in 2006.

Today's racing delivered four races in a solid 18 to 25 knots in Horsens bay.

Psarofaghis won the first and the last race, finishing the two others in the second place. Payne sailed 2,1,1,2, exactly the opposite.

So over the eight races each had sailed to four victories and two second places as counting results.

With tied results, the count back meant the best result in the last race won, so Psarofaghis, the defending champion, as the winner of the last race was declared 2009 Champion.

Thirds was Netherlands sailor Eelco Boers.
