Burke Marine introduces UV protected clothing

This winter will see the usual mass exodus of sailors sailing north to catch the sun and good times at both the Airlie Beach and Hamilton Island race weeks. While this is fun and we all wish we could do it making sure we are protected from the elements is vital. While the rest of us are looking at keeping warm, these sun chassers need to consider the harmful UV rays that they will be subjecting themselves to both on and off the water.

Burke Marine has a range of garments that will ensure that after all the fun in the sun you are still safe and well. The range consists of a long sleeve Sun Shirt, Wide Brim Hat, Cap and Quick Dry shorts.

UV protected Blue Shirt - Burke Marine

The Sun Shirt. Made from UPF50+ fabric that protects you from both UVA (ageing) and UVB (burning). The collar allows for neck protection when turned up and the soft touch fabric makes it super comfortable to wear. An antimicrobial finish helps eliminate odors and the synthetic fibers mean no static cling. Being quick dry they wash very easily and do not need to be ironed making it the ideal piece of clothing for those busy regattas. (Navy or White RRP $ 54.00)

UV protectedHat - Burke Marine

Wide Brim Sun Hat. Made from a Quick Dry SPF50+ fabric, Burke marine have eliminated the old problem of Floppy brim by inserting a stiffened peak into the front. The Quick Dry material means that you never suffer from the brim sagging when the hat gets wet and the brass ventilation holes help temperature control and the adjustable chin straps means you will finish the regatta with the hat you started with.(Navy RRP $26.00)

UV protected Cap - Burke Marine

Classic Sailing Cap. A wide brim hat is not for everyone but they still want the protection from the harmful rays. These caps use the same Quick Dry fabric as that of the wide brim hat and for extra comfort the dome on top has been eliminated. With a touch fastening adjuster at the back these caps fit all head sizes. (Navy RRP $18.00)

Quick Dry Short: Available in the Newport Sailing Short or the New Deck Short, these also make use of a Quick dry fabric that is SPF50+. The Newport shorts have a longer leg, removable foam padding and pockets with storm flaps, while the Deck short has a standard pocket configuration and no mesh lining and a reinforced seat making them super comfortable.

They both have two standard pockets, a cargo pocket and a zip seat pocket. While the Newport can be worn on shore the Deck short is more suitable and with both of them being fast dri they will have already dried by the time you reach the bar.

So now with Burke Marine you can be out in the sun and know that you are getting maximum protection. The garments make ideal crew wear and a corporate range is available with subtle logos leaving plenty of room for your own art work.
