Team GB's Yngling trio of Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson put in another solid display on Sunday to see them extend their lead at the top of the results table.

The two-time World Champions once again showed their resilience in the difficult conditions to pick their way through the fleet from eighth at the first mark in the first race, and 14th at the first downwind leg in the second race to their finishing positions of 4,7 for the day.

'It was a tough day today,' the 22-year-old Wilson explained. 'The breeze was really up and down and in different directions. We always keep calm and try to make the best of the situations we've got.

'Sailboat racing is always pretty hard - you never know what to expect. When you wake up in the morning, it could be anything, any wind strength, any direction and that's what we love about sailing is the changes that happen.

'The conditions of the day meant you had to be quite strong with your positioning. There were a lot of changes happening on the racecourse for sure.'

Ben Ainslie improved his overall position third overnight to second after day two of racing for the Finn class. The defending champion was up with the leading pack in the first race, where he found himself a target with American Zach Railey claiming a right-of-way rule infringement.

'It was one of those ones where I didn't actually do anything wrong, but he had a fantastic opportunity to protest me and get me disqualified from the race, so really it meant I had to do a penalty turn which was pretty costly,' Ainslie explained, who was frustrated but not surprised at Railey's claim.

'It's the Olympics, isn't it? You try everything you can to get an advantage on your opponent. I think most of the fleet try and give me a hard time when they can!

'It's a tough situation but I'd rather play it safe and do the turn than end up in a protest situation.'
