Brass Monkey Regatta 2008 August 30-31

'Brass Monkey Regatta' Glen Stanaway
2008 Squaddy Brass Monkey Regatta - Saturday August 30th - Sunday August 31st.

Regatta Overview

2008 is the fourth Squaddy Brass Monkey Regatta to be run in what is a fine tradition. This is the event of the Sailing Season not to miss, clear the cobwebs from your boats and hit the Harbour in what has become known as the best Regatta to start the sailing season.

The two day regatta which is open to all skiff, dinghy and catamaran classes will be hosted from the Sydney Flying Squadron's club house at Milson's Point in the heart of Sydney on the weekend of August 30th and 31st 2008.

The regatta offers a terrific prospect for all dinghy classes as it will not only offer a pre-season training opportunity, but also a chance to match up against similar performance craft and put their own class on display for upcoming sailors.

Spectator Ferry

Friends and family are catered for via a spectator ferry that departs from the clubs wharf to view the racing at 11:45am each day. Call the club on (02) 9955 8350 to make a booking. The ferry will return to the club at approximately 4pm.

Social

Breakfast shall be served each morning from 9:30am both days. BBQ's with free beer will be provided after sailing each day. A night of music and fun has been planned for the Saturday in the clubhouse and all sailors, family and friends are encouraged to hang around and enjoy the ambience of careening cove. Sunday afternoon will see the closure of the Regatta with a presentation of winners in the boat shed. For those wishing to hang around there is a live band playing in the clubhouse Sunday afternoon.
