Barcelona World Race competitor Central Lechera Asturiana at between 1815hrs UTC this Tuesday evening broke their mast with half of the spar falling into the water. Co-skippers Juan Merediz and Fran Palacio are reported to be uninjured and have been successful in recovering the broken half of the spar, the genoa which went in the water and all of the standing rigging is reported to be largely intact.
