'Finishing touches being put to new Sandringham Yacht Club'

The spectacular newly renovated Sandringham Yacht Club will play host to the Australian Youth Match Racing Championships from September 18 - 20.

The Yachting Australia event, held in conjunction with Yachting Victoria and Sandringham Yacht Club, will feature some of the best youth sailors from around the country.

Principle Race Officer John Middleton said SYC would provide the 7.5 Beneteau sports boats for the exciting round robin series and both the semi-finals and finals.

Mr Middleton said the new $1.25 million club house was the ideal location to watch the championships, as the racing would take place in the water directly below the state-of-the-art facilities.

'The Championships will ensure some electrifying action on the water and some great viewing for spectators from the new club house,' Mr Middleton said.
