CST Composites announces title sponsorship for the 2009 International Moth World Championships.

Australian spar builder CST Composites has announced their title sponsorship of this important international regatta, which will be named the 'CST Composites 2009 International Moth World Championships'. The regatta will be held from August 8 - 14 in Cascade Locks, Oregon, USA.

This is one of the most legendary high wind racing venues in the world, and should provide an incredible backdrop for the World Championships of this cutting edge class.

'After the success of 2008 CST Composites World Championship, we are glad to announce the continuation of our partnership with the class through sponsorship of the 2009 event. The Gorge in USA should be a fantastic venue for this technology leading class.

Just like the Moths, we pride ourselves on innovation and development, to make products that are market leaders in the Yachting sector. One of these products is CST Nano Spars (TM), new technology that will see manufacturing of lighter, stiffer and smaller diameter spars' said CST's Managing Director Clive Watts.

Added Event Chairman Nigel Oswald: 'The organization of the regatta is shaping up very well. We expect 80 boats from 20 nations, and the level of competition should be incredible.

The American guys have been working really hard, and they are anxious to see if they can be competitive on the world stage for the first time in recent memory. In addition there will be a number of new designs that will be put to the test. The venue is perfect for Moth racing; great wind, relatively flat water, and a beautiful backdrop. These boats can easily top 25 knots in
these conditions.

The images from this event should be incredible! The organizers within the US Moth Class and the Columbia Gorge Racing Association are really excited about hosting this championship, and promise both great racing and first class hospitality.'
