The Australian Sailing Team (AST) was established in 2005 with a view to providing a greater focus on winning medals in sailing at the Olympic Games. The AST is the official national representative sailing team for the Olympic classes and comprises of the best sailors in their classes in Australia.

In 2008 Australia won two Gold and one Silver medal at the Olympic Games, second best performing nation.

The AST is now working towards London 2012 with the aim to be the number one nation.

To achieve this, the AST is currently recruiting coaches for a number of classes, including women's match racing, and is calling for expressions of interest from coaches in Australia and around the world.

The positions will be on a contract basis with a small retainer paid and then the number of days per annum negotiated for each class.

Consideration will be given to those with appropriate coaching qualifications.

If you are interested in working with one of the world's best sailing teams, then please submit an expression of interest detailing:

. your preferred classes,
. classes/athletes you have worked with
. coaching qualifications
. your home base
. any other relevant information
