Australia Day Honours for two Marine Rescue NSW volunteers

'Emergency Services Medal' Marine Rescue NSW

William Peter (Bill) Carter of Marine Rescue Shoalhaven and Bruce Leslie Mitchell of Marine Rescue Port Kembla were each awarded the Emergency Services Medal in the 2011 Australia Day Honours. Bill Carter joined the marine unit of the Volunteer Rescue Association in 1998 and was appointed a Foundation Director of the Board of the new, integrated organisation, Marine Rescue NSW, on its establishment in July 2009. At the first Annual General Meeting of Marine Rescue NSW in December 2010 he was re-elected to the Board.
