49er World Championship. After a brief rainstorm in the morning complete with lightning and thunder, the sailors were sent out on Lake Garda with a fresh wind of 11 knots.

Aussies Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen maintained their lead despite Nico Delle Karth and Nikolaus Leopold Resch of Austria winning the day. The Austrian pair sailed a 1-2-1 for the day moving them within 4 points of the leaders who sailed a 7-4-6.

Stevie Morrison and Ben Rhodes moved up for the day into third overall with the Sibelo brothers in fourth. At press time, protests were still being heard.

In the silver fleet, Peter Burling and Blaire Tuke continue to lead with Jan Hauke Erichsen and Hans Jakob Dethleffsen of Germany leading the Bronze.

Races are scheduled early for Sunday in all fleets with the medal race planned for the afternoon.
