Around Australia Virtual Sailing event claimed as biggest ever

Ian Thomson from SOS Racing claims the Around Australia World Record Virtual Regatta is the biggest sailing participant event in Australian sailing history. With almost 10,000 skippers racing from all over the world, it is game on to see who can get the quickest time around Oz. Winds are favorable right now and the skippers who started yesterday have mostly entered Queensland already, getting close to the race record time of Brindabella who holds the Sydney Gold Coast record. Rankings will not be known until skippers reach the first waypoint which is elusive reef half way up the Queensland coast. ...
