Simpson Marine
| What a Boat Show! Ao Po Marina in Phuket proved to be the centre of attention during the inaugural Open Day event - 23 to 25 October - which drew in a catching crowd over the three days resulting in two immediate sales, and a number of sea trial bookings in the coming weeks for Simpson Marine.
With a total of 18 boats on display, including an array of luxury vessels from the reputable Azimut, Beneteau range, charter boats and hand-picked brokerage boats; the event was met with huge support and enthusiasm, further highlighting the rife interest in boating and ever-expanding marine industry.
According to Grant Saunders, Simpson Marine's Thailand Country Manager, the Open Day exceeded initial expectations, and has enforced the need to foster the industry in the current economic environment. 'Not only did the show manage to showcase the popular models for the region but also identified the various facets of boating, and endless opportunities on offer. Boating can be enjoyed by many, either as a sheer luxury outlet, as a live aboard or even an investment with the charter option. All in all, we were able to provide an outlet where new, brokerage and charter vessels were on show in one stunning location to allow for a broad overview into boating.'
Guests were also treated to Caribbean ambient music with a steel drum band to complement the BBQ spread, and an ample flow of refreshments. 'The overwhelming response and positive feedback has made it a worthwhile event and ensured a repeat show next year' adds Saunders.
Upcoming events on the agenda for Simpson Marine include the King's Cup Regatta in Thailand with a fleet of sponsored Beneteau sailing vessels in early December, and a Sea Ray boat show in Singapore before the end of the year. In addition, October has been a busy month for Simpson Marine with the recent China Cup International Regatta sponsorship in Shenzhen with a 30-strong, one-class Beneteau First 40.7 fleet
