AIMEX to hold 2009 Australian Marine Export Awards

The Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) will host and managing the 2009 Australian Marine Industry Export Awards, to coincide with the Sydney International Boat Show.

Australian marine industry exporters are commanding a significant place on the world stage and AIMEX believes these companies deserve recognition for their initiative, innovation, quality and expertise and the contributions they are making to ensure the 'Australian made' brand is at the forefront of global markets.

Mary Anne Edwards, AIMEX Chief Executive said 'AIMEX is proud to be managing the Australian Marine Industry Export Awards this year. Awards such as these ensure that Australian marine industry manufacturers and service providers get the profile they deserve, not only in the domestic market but in the international arena. The marketing value to a business of winning an export award cannot be underestimated.'

This year AIMEX has not only simplified the application process, but also the categories from previous years to make it easier for applicants to enter. There are 6 categories and each will be judged on a points system with the company accumulating the highest points overall receiving the prestigious '2009 Marine Industry Exporter of the Year' award.

Recent results from the Australian pavilion at international boat shows prove demand for Australian products continues to run high. A weaker Australian dollar combined with the quality, innovation and excellence of Australian made products, is ensuring Australian companies continue to develop and grow new markets internationally. The winners of these awards will have another unique marketing tool to promote the innovation, quality and excellence of their product or service.

Applications will be judged by a panel comprising of representatives from Austrade, Australian Marine Industries Federation (AMIF) and two senior marine industry identities. The awards presentation will take place at the AIMEX cocktail function on Thursday 30 July in Sydney, to coincide with the Sydney International Boat Show.

Applications will be mailed to Australian marine export companies the week beginning Monday 6 April and can also be downloaded from the AIMEX website www.aimex.asn.au
