NS14s are a fantastic affordable family class and fleet numbers are on the increase at many clubs Australia wide. They are a high performance dinghy offering speed and precision handling, without the complexity of traps and kites. This makes them the ideal racing dinghy for couples and parent/child combinations. The weight and strength required to be competitive is minimal, opening the competition to both junior and female helms and crews.

The 40th NS14 National Championships are to be held at Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club, just South of the Adelaide CBD from 27th December to January 3rd.

The nine race series has attracted crews from NSW and Tasmania as well as the local fleet with the current entrant list containing 35 boats. If recent Adelaide conditions are anything to go by, the weather conditions should be ideal for close competitive racing.

Many sailors are excited about the trip to B&SYC to experience the famed 'wet' bar where sailors gather after the race with no need shower or even take the wet suit off if you are really thirsty! The locals are looking forward to (trying) to mix it with top NS14 sailors from around the country and showing off Adelaide as a great place to sail.
