The Minister for Infrastructure, Graeme Sturges, said that the funding was being made under Marine and Safety Tasmania's Recreational Boating Fund.
"This year 11 recreational boating projects will be funded State-wide, ranging from navigation aids to boat ramps and associated adjacent walkways," he said.
"Successful projects were decided following a number of public forums with the wider boating community.
"For 10 years now, MAST has allocated funds derived from recreational boating registration fees for investment in recreational boating facilities. This year's funding will push the total amount spent on recreational boating by MAST to over $5 million since the fund started."
Mr Sturges said that MAST also liaises with local government authorities and facility owners to assist with funding projects on a dollar-for-dollar basis.
Most recreational boating facilities throughout the State are owned and maintained by local government.
Next year's Recreational Boating Fund will open on January 1, 2009.
The 11 funded projects for 2008/2009 are:
. White Beach, Nubeena: Walkway/Ramp
