Bob Williams, from Ocean Events talks about the 2011-2012 Rally and the optimum times of the year for cruisers to be on various places on the Australian coastline.

Cruising around the coastline of Australia is a massive adventure. The distance is great, with many places to visit, with weather seasons in the north, the south, and in between, dictating passage making and the timing of legs of the circumnavigation.

There are many ports to start a rally from and to visit - Fremantle, Busselton, Albany, Esperance, Port Lincoln, Adelaide, Melbourne, ports on the coast of Tasmania, the coast of New South Wales, the Gold Coast, the Whitsunday's, the north coast of Queensland, Darwin and surroundings, and the long coast of Western Australia - from the tropics of the north to the Mediterranean climate in the south there are a host of stop-over options.

In this audio file Bob talks about the overall cruising concept, the various sectors, sector captains.

Minimum crew numbers will two experienced sailors, with similar safety requirements to the ARC Rally.
