Georges River Sailing Club is playing host over two weekends to the 2008-09 NSW Sabot State Titles. Almost 50 boats are contesting the Championship across the Senior and Junior divisions.

The Championship also acts as the selection series for both the Southern NSW and Northern NSW teams that will represent their respective Zones at the National Titles to be held by the Whitsunday Sailing Club at Airlie Beach over the Christmas break.

After the first weekend of racing where five heats were sailed Northern Zone boats from Gosford Sailing Club are leading in both the Senior and Junior Championships

Light winds and a strong ebb tide on the Sunday saw almost a quarter of the Senior fleet disqualified for being OCS at the start of Heat 4.

The sailors will have another chance to master the tide when heats 6 - 10 are sailed over the weekend of the 15th 16th November.
