18 footers blown away

11:06 AM Sun 23 Nov 2008 GMT
18ft Skiffs NSW Championship Race 3 was cancelled as wild wilds swept across Sydney Harbour. At race time gusts even at Fort Denison were in the 34-37 knot range.

The only activity today was the hearing of four protests pending from last Sunday's Race 2, which resulted in the following decisions being made by the independent YA committee:

Southern Cross Constructions was disqualified

Appliancesonline was disqualified

Gotta Love It 7 was awarded average points

Rag & Famish Hotel was awarded average points

Omega Smeg was awarded average points

Kinder Caring Home Nursing was awarded average points

The disqualifications of the third placed appliancesonline and fourth placed Southern Cross Constructions means that all skiffs originally finishing from fifth place, and thereafter, are elevated by two (2) placings.

Race 4 of the NSW Championship will be sailed on Sydney Harbour next Sunday, 30 November.

A decision regarding Race 3 will be made during the coming week.
