Yamaha adds stainless steel propellers to it's lineup

Yamaha Motor Company has announced that it has acquired a US manufacturer of stainless steel propellers.  Precision Propellers Inc is now operating under the new management arrangement as a member of the Yamaha Motor Group.

Yamaha management in the USA stated that the purpose of the acquisition is to strengthen the production capability and ensure that the high quality of the stainless steel propellers supplied with Yamaha outboards, continues.  Up until the present, about 50% of the production of PPI has been delivered to Yamaha.

All employees at PPI continue to be employed by the new Yamaha owned PPI organisation.  Yamaha will also be making capital in the Indiana based facility.

Commenting on the acquisition of Precision Propellers, Yamaha's Brett Hampson (Australian National Sales & Marketing Manager - Marine Products) stated that this was a timely sign of Yamaha's strength to the international market.

"Virtually every day we read that one of our competitors is laying off staff, closing production plants or selling off associated business units," Brett Hampson said.

"At Yamaha on a global basis the story is quite different.  We are going from strength to strength building a stronger and more robust business."

"The US acquisition of PPI comes on the back of a recent announcement of new outboard production facilities in Japan, a new four stroke plant gearing up to keep pace with worldwide demand. And in Australia we are about to move into a new and greatly expanded waterfront facility in Brisbane."

Yamaha is the world's largest outboard manufacturer and continues to expand not only the range of outboard engines but enhance the brand's reputation for durability.  The acquisition of an important ancillary performance line further strengths the quality and reputation of these fine outboards.

Yamaha outboards are available through an Australia-wide network of authorised Yamaha outboard dealers.  All Yamaha 4-stroke outboards are supported with a full 4-year manufacturer's warranty and all 2-stroke outboards are backed by a 3 year warranty - standard conditions apply.
