Yamaha Appoints Vic/Tas Marine Manager

Robin Dayes to the position of Victoria/ Tasmania State Manager - Marine Products.  In this senior management role, Robin is responsible for both Yamaha outboards and Yamaha Wave Runners.

Having been with Yamaha for over seven years, Robin has earned an enviable reputation amongst Yamaha dealers, having been a sales representative with responsibility for both Victoria and Tasmania.

Robin's appointment came about through the retirement of John Thompson.  John has left Yamaha after 11 years of great service, to enjoy a quieter life in the pursuit of his passion for blue water fishing.

Prior to joining Yamaha Motor Australia, Robin Dayes worked in the sales area with Mackay Trailers.  Robin's knowledge of the marine industry and the dealership network is unparalleled.  He is also a high achiever having been recognised in Yamaha awards many times over.

"A change in senior management is always a good time to implement some new initiatives," Robin said upon his appointment.

"We have an excellent network of Yamaha dealers in both Victoria and Tasmania, representing the Yamaha brand particularly well while supporting customers equally as well."

"Yamaha is doing really well in Tasmania where it is the dominant brand.  In Victoria our dealer representation is not as strong as it used to be.  We are looking to appoint a number of new dealers so as to provide better geographic coverage for our Yamaha customers."

According to Brett Hampson, National Sales & Marketing Manager for Marine Products at Yamaha, Robin Dayes was the obvious man to step up to the position of Vic/Tas Sales Manager.

"Robin is a very diligent and experienced manager who has a first rate relationship with our dealer network," Brett said.   "We had no hesitation in appointing Robin to take over from John Thompson to ensure a smooth, seamless transition."

"There are some challenging yet exciting times ahead," Robin said.  "We have to work hard to establish new Yamaha dealerships, principally in Melbourne's south east corridor.  And we want to work alongside some of our key Yamaha dealers who are lacking in name brand hulls to sell at their dealership."

Yamaha outboards are available through an Australia-wide network of authorised Yamaha outboard dealers.  All Yamaha outboard models are fully backed by a comprehensive two-year manufacturer's warranty.

Yamaha will extend the warranty to 3 years on 2-stroke, and 4 years on 4-stroke provided the engine is serviced by an authorised Yamaha dealer.
