'Shark near surfers'

Minister for Primary Industries, Steve Whan, today announced that ground breaking research will be included as part of the NSW Government?s aerial shark surveillance trials to evaluate the effectiveness of the service. Minister Whan said the research will involve Industry & Investment NSW (I&I NSW) scientists positioning shark silhouettes or replica sharks underwater on random survey days and at random positions along the aircraft flight path to test the shark spotters.
