The St.George Motor Boat Club ended its 2008/09 season last weekend with a successful St.George Spectacular that attracted plenty of competitive boats and a strong spectator line-up on the shores of Kogarah Bay.

Feature events included the Ken Waggot Memorial and the Spencer Miller Memorial, with a range of classes staged throughout the day.

Race winners included Adam Wood ('Trouble') and Matt Smith ('Phantom') with multiple Australia Formula 1 champion Craig Bailey also showing out strongly.

Veteran racer Charlie Mayfield posted a strong second place behind Wood.

David Ainley drove Bullet Express to a win in the Mod VP.

All in all a successful meet to end the season.

Racers are now concentrating on having boats (and engines!) ready for the 2009/2010 season which gets under way in September.
