Powerboat P1 Management Ltd, the rights holders to the Powerboat P1 World Championship, is thrilled to conrifm that it will be returning to Siracusa, Sicily on September 17-19.

Joining Sicilian ministers and city representatives in Milan to make the announcement at the BIT International Tourism Exchange, Powerboat P1, the world's premier marine motorsport, promised to return bigger and better in 2010 with twenty of the most powerful marine engines that money can buy, battling it out in Siracusa once again.

Locals will have the opportunity to see the 42 ft twin-engine monohull powerboats up close, as well as watching the boats reaching speeds in excess of 200 kph from Ortigia.

Powerboat P1 chairman, Asif Rangoonwala, said: 'It is thanks to the ongoing support and enthusiasm of the Regione Sicilia and its Minister of Tourism, Nino Strano, that Powerboat P1 will be returning to the stunning island of Sicily for its season finale in 2010.

'It provided the series with the most picturesque back-drop for its racing last year and produced some spectacular photography. We were all made to feel very welcome by all the local people, hotel staff and local businesses that supported us for the event, so we have no hesitation in returning this year.'
