British international powerboating duo, Kim Collins and Dan Cramphorn, have confirmed that they will break from their pursuit of the 2010 Powerboat P1 World Championship title to compete in BladeRun-Western Europe, a three-day powerboat rally that starts in Rotterdam on Thursday July 15th.

Team 26, a Sterling-powered Donzi 38ZRC, won six-out-of-ten races during its 2009 SuperSport Class campaign and are the first UK entrants to sign-up for the event.

'The Dutch organisers are very professional and with 50 teams already signed up it promises to be one hell of an event,' confirms Collins. 'I would encourage anyone with a taste for a party and a half decent boat to get involved.'

The British pairing will compete in BladeRun with a new Burnico 41ft prototype, built exclusively to race in Powerboat P1's Evolution Class in 2011. Bernico, is a Belgium specialist boat builder, its craft are synonymous with the worlds leading water skiers.

'Whilst our energies are now focussed fully upon a challenge for P1's world title, we shall be well up for some mid season fun and relaxation,' Collins explains. 'We enjoy the camaraderie, glamour and adventure of these events. Our introduction to powerboating resulted from a BladeRun we took part in during 2007.'

BladeRun-Western Europe follows inland waterways to Antwerp then over to Ostend before heading back to Rotterdam where a farewell party, headlined by some of Europe's top DJ's, is expected to attract a crowd of around 10,000. Confirmed entrants include several racing drivers, a pop star, a DJ and Miss Holland

'I'm not sure if she has a boat,' continues Collins, 'but we definitely have a spare seat!'
