Powerboat P1 Management Limited, the exclusive rights holder for the Powerboat P1 World Championship, has announced that its Special Projects Director, Andy Hindley, will be leaving the company in April to pursue new interests.

Hindley joined Powerboat P1 from the Volvo Ocean Race in February 2008 as Sport & Events Director and he has played an important role in developing Powerboat P1 into the world's fastest growing marine motorsport. In his current role as Special Projects Director, Hindley has been overseeing the integration of the Honda F4SA race series into the Powerboat P1 structure in readiness for its imminent relaunch as the Powerboat P1 SuperStock Championship.

'I am sorry to be leaving Powerboat P1 after two challenging, successful and enjoyable seasons, and I'm sure the championship will continue to grow both as an exhilarating sporting event and exciting commercial property' said Andy Hindley. Powerboat P1 Chairman, Asif Rangoonwala said: 'Andy has made a valuable contribution to the development of Powerboat P1 and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours.'
