More than 25 Sea Ray cruisers, seemingly all manned by pirates, dominated the picturesque waterways of Port Hacking, south of Sydney, last weekend for the Andrew Short Marine Sea Ray Rendezvous.

There was no shortage of black eye patches, cutlasses and assorted piratical garb throughout the rally, with more than 25 owners taking part.

Andrew Short Marine managing director, Kylie Short, said the rendezvous had been held for the past five years.

'My late husband, Andrew, myself and the dealership's staff designed the event to be a fun day on the water for our loyal Sea Ray customers, their families and friends simply to show our appreciation for their on-going business,' Kylie explained.

'It also allows owners to view other Sea Ray models, meet like-minded owners and mix with Andrew Short Marine staff in a casual, informal environment.

'I'm delighted to admit that every Sea Ray Rendezvous held has been fantastic and 2010 was not exception,' she added.

Those taking part were gifted the opportunity to win $5000.00 worth of prizes supplied by various sponsors, including Club Marine, Toyota, Mercury Marine, GE Finance, Smartwave Polyboats, of New Zealand and, of course, Sea Ray.

Organisers arranged a series of popular events, the highlight being the 'Pirates of the Bay' theme dress for the Saturday night dinner, together with the 'Inflatable Challenge', the 'Human Water Bomb' and the Trivia Team Competition.

Andrew Short Marine has previously been honoured as International Sea Ray Dealer of the Year.
