Scandinavian Grand Prix of the Sea. Team SW1 Capital duo Dan Cramphorn and Kim Collins celebrated a maiden overall Grand Prix of the Sea title following Sunday's imperious endurance race victory in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Leading from start-to-finish, the all-conquering British pilots staved off the challenge from fellow Donzi-manufactured hull, Baia Attolini, and reigning SuperSport kings, Seagull Chaudron, to claim back-to-back wins and become the open-canopy stars of Sweden.

Only the second team in 2009 to score a 100% record over a Powerboat P1 World Championship weekend - SNAV OSG earning that tag in San Benedetto - Team SW1 Capital jumped above Ikocasa in the standings and closed the gap on third-placed Spirit of Belgium to 113 points.

Punching the air with delight, jubilant throttleman Kim Collins said: 'It's been an amazing weekend. We've been waiting for this moment all season and this will be a great confident boost for us ahead of Sicily's season finale.'
Co-pilot Dan Cramphorn's joy was written all over his face, adding: 'We're half-way to achieving what we set out to do by winning the four remaining races this season.

'We've now won more races than any other SuperSport team and we're looking forward to celebrating in style.'
The unusual occurrence of two starts in the Evolution Class couldn't prevent Belgians, 2B1 Furnibo romping to their first victory of 2009.

Charging ahead at the beginning of lap eleven, a dramatic spin-out involving Lucas Oil Outerlimits caused the race to be restarted with part two consequently revised with a shorter start + six laps finish.

SNAV OSG kept up the pressure on leaders, Silverline, by taking the overall Evolution Class honours for Scandinavia. Finishing runners-up in Sunday's endurance race proved good enough to ensure the Italian team's second Grand Prix of the Sea trophy on the bounce.

Elated-throttleman Giancarlo Cangiano said: 'It's great situation to be in. We are in fantastic form and still truly believe we can catch Silverline. If you consider the bonus points that are still available, we are very optimistic about winning the championship.

'Gothenburg has been a wonderful race location and hopefully it can become one of the classic venues for Powerboat P1.'

Now with only two rounds to go at the final Grand Prix of the Sea in Sicily in September, the race for SuperSport Class gold remains wide open with Seagull Chaudron and Baia Attolini separated by 28-points.

Silverline's lead at the top of the Evolution Class standings has been cut to 75-points, courtesy of SNAV OSG's win in Sweden but with the British team capitalising on the misfortunes of Lucas Oil Outerlimits, it would take a brave man to bet against Messrs Langdon and Falkowski grabbing a first-ever Powerboat P1 World Championship.
