Nitro Marine (34 Smith St, Southport, QLD) has taken out the top award for Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific for 2008 and has now won the award 2 years running.  The award was presented at a gala presentation night held in Muscat, Oman, Mercury Marine's top 25 dealers gathered as part of Mercury Marine's Rewards Program.

Nitro Marine's Michael & Therese Waugh accepted the award from Ken Evans (Mercury, Director of Outboards) & John Temple (General Manager Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands). In what has been described as a tough year in the boating industry it was a great surprise to receive the award especially for the second time back to back, the award reflects the dedication of the staff to provide the most professional advice & service as possible.

Nitro Marine was established in 1983 and is probably the longest running Marine Business on the Gold Coast and has achieved this by building the business on their repairs and servicing department, customer satisfaction and commitment to Mercury Marine and partner boat suppliers such as Stacer Boats.

Having bought the business in 2001/2002 from the Mills family, Michael and Therese have strived to continue their commitment to service and customer satisfaction and at the same time grown the business from 285Mtr2 in Railway Street to 2400Mtr2 in Smith Street. Nitro Marine has consolidated their boat brands and represents Stacer (Australia's top aluminium brand) & Tahoe, Nitro Bass Boats & Mako Fiberglass (Tracker Boat Group US). They have also been selling and servicing Crownline boats over the past 3 months. "Our commitment to these brands provides our customers with confidence and stability - knowing we will be there to look after them after they made that important purchase and keep them on the water week after week."

Nitro Marine operates a fully certified Mercury Marine & Mercruiser Service centre headed up by Rick Grech , Nitro Marine's  Service Manager, with Dave Brown, Glen Wood, Alex Gordon & Jarred Felton. It's a team who love what they do and know the product. A lifetime of experience gained coupled with their association with commercial users such as Couran Cove who clock up 2500 hours per year (a lifetime of boating for most) gives a great insight into the product and its reliability.

Sales Manager Dale Collins heads a team of sales people including Steve Larter (After Sales Manager) & Scott Butler (resident fishing expert).
