It has been hailed as one of the most anticipated events on the tournament calendar, with the Gold Coast Super Series set to hit the Gold Coast in September for the final event of the year.

Bream anglers from across Australia are expected to flock to the tourism capital contested out of the Meridien Marinas Horizon Shores complex starting on September 10.

Speed limits and 'No Go' areas have been mapped and contestants will receive maps during briefing.

Basically, anywhere east of the Southport Seaway or Jumpinpin has been designated 'No Go' zones.

Recommended boat ramps for launching are at the Meridien Marinas Horizon Shores facility and at Cabbage Tree Point, Woongoolba. Both ramps will be utilised for weigh-ins.

Official accommodation has been arranged at the Meridien Marinas Horizon Shores (07 5546-2300) complex and at the nearby Jacobs Well Tourist Park (07 5546-2016.

Contestants in the catch and release tournament will be seeking great cash and prizes o offer.

The three-day event will eventuate in the top-ten competing in a 'shoot out' against each other for a share of the $15,000 prize pool.

Last year, the excellent Meridien Marinas Horizon Shores facility was the venue for the season-ending Ford Ranger Bream Grand Final, which resulted in Redland Bay's Chris Britton claiming the series and the coveted $10,000 winning cheque.

The 2008 grand final was filmed as part of the Australian Fishing Championships and was telecast earlier this year through the Channel 10 and Southern Cross networks.
