Darwin dealership, the appropriately-named Barramundi Marine, has been named Australian Dealer of the Year for the Stacer aluminium boat breed.

And no one was happier than dealer principal Grayson Bernard, who said the award recognised the hard work his team has put in over the past 18 months. 'I am really excited our team has won the award, it's our second time in four-years,' he said.

'Over the past 18 months we have moved into new and larger premises and have worked hard to offer our customers a superior shopping and service experience. 'Winning Stacer Australian Dealer of the Year is definitely the icing on the cake,' he added.

Stacer national sales and marketing manager, Damien Duncan, described Barramundi Marine's 2007 performance as 'outstanding in all areas. The dealership has had an excellent year across all areas of the business and consistently and actively seeks further improvement,' he said.

'Premises, presentation, stockholding, point of sale, signage and website are just a few of the areas Barramundi Marine excels in. The Barramundi Marine team has also been proactive in holding numerous retail events and implementing innovative marketing.

'Overall, this dealership was a clear choice for the award and has cemented itself as one of Australia's flagship Stacer outlets,' he added.

The 2007 Stacer national and state awards were judged on 21 criteria, including signage, boat displays, stock, point of sale, workshop presentation, warranty and branding, to name but a few.

Other award winners were; National Finance Award, Affordable Cars and Marine, of Cairns, which was also named Queensland Dealer of the Year; Molin Motorcycle and Marine, of Koondrook, Victorian Dealer of the Year, Wardle Marine, of Port Pirie, named South Australian/NT Dealer of the Year and Maynes Marine, Hobart, Tasmanian Dealer of the Year.
