Tropical Cyclone Olga, central pressure 983hpa was located near 15.9S 147.4E at 1am or 215 kilometres ENE of Port Douglas and moving WNW at 22 kilometres per hour. Tropical Cyclone Olga is currently a Category 2 cyclone. Coastal crossing expected near midday.. (its now suggested that 1600 is a more likely time for a Cooktown coastal crossing.

Tropical Cyclone Olga, central pressure 983hpa was located near 15.9S 147.4E at
1am or 215 kilometres ENE of Port Douglas and moving WNW at 22 kilometres per
hour. Tropical Cyclone Olga is currently a Category 2 cyclone. Coastal crossing
expected near midday. Monsoon trough extends from the southern Gulf of
Carpentaria to Tropical Cyclone Olga and further NE across the northern Coral
Sea. A high over the western Tasman Sea extended a ridge along the central
Queensland coast.

Wind warning south of Lockhart River.
Sunday until midnight: North of Lockhart River.. Wind: NW/W 20/25 knots. Sea:
2.3 metres outside the reef and to 1.6 metres inside the reef. Scattered showers
and isolated thunderstorms.
South of Lockhart River.. Wind: SW/NW 25/33 knots, increasing to 34/47 knots
over southern waters. Sea: 3 metres outside the reef, increasing to 4 metres in
southern waters. Squally showers, rain areas to the south.
Monday: Wind: NW 20/30 knots.
Tuesday: Wind: NW 15/20 knots.

centre otherwise 25/33 knots. Winds increasing to 48/60 knots within 25nm of
cyclone centre. Sea: 3 to 4 metres outside the reef, increasing to 5 to 6 metres
near cyclonic centre. Rain periods, heavy at times.
Monday: Wind: N/NE winds 25/33 knots. Sea: decreasing to 3 metres outside the
reef, 1.8 metres inside the reef. Rain periods.
