The world of Class 1 is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of its former promoter, Mauro Ravenna, who died yesterday in Cuba from injuries sustained in a car crash in April. Mauro was the UIM Promoter of the Class 1 World Powerboat Championship from 1992 to 1996 - going on to become the promoter of the successful UIM Aquabike Championship - laying the foundation of the modern-day championship format that Class 1 runs today.
