Will the Australian PKRA event ever happen this year?

Unfortunately, not now as the organisers couldn't get enough sponsors to support the event which was originally planned for Leighton Beach in WA.
Leighton hosts the amazing Red Bull 'Lighthouse to Leighton' racing event every summer, and does an amazing job at it!
Rumour is that if someone doesn't throw their hand up soon, the event will be cancelled in Australia altogether with the final PKRA stop being somewhere in the pacific.
Last time the PKRA came to Australia, the event was held on the Gold Coast in December. But due to the very light winds and messy swell, nothing really happened and unfortunately the businesses in Australia who were likely to support the event bailed out - much to the dismay of all involved.
So, will it happen? Do you happen to run a business and enjoy kiteboarding & all it has to offer? Can you get on board with the PKRA and get involved with the event, or maybe a nationals event for freestyle?
