What's Susi Mai up to? Pro kiteboarder turned lingerie model

Miss Mai goes from a bikini to lingerie

What’s our favorite kiting chick up to now? And who’s ever heard of ex-pro kiteboarder turned lingerie model?

That’s Susi, and this week she popped up on the fashion website Imagista, which Is “a digital platform for creative-talents to showcase their work to a global audience of culturally like-minded people.”

They say they’re committed to discovering, developing, and presenting creatively-driven, and exclusive content across a multitude of genres.

But back to kiting, what’s Miss Mai been up to lately?

Well she’s been spending a heap of time in the British Virgin Islands, hanging out with rich business people who love kiteboarding, and sitting for a whole heap of interviews. She’s been referred to as the Queen of kiteboarding, and it seems to be a pretty fitting title at the moment. Most newsworthy, is the size of the MaiTai event, and how much publicity it’s been getting.

MaiTai is a series of kiteboarding events actually, for tech execs, startup founders, and venture capitalists that started seven years ago with professional kiteboarder Susi Mai and Bill Tai of Charles River Ventures. It began as a small gathering of friends at the vacation home of Ken Goldman, the chief financial officer of Yahoo, and is now a five-day, invite-only event held at various times of the year in the Hamptons; Maui; Cape Hatteras, NC; the Dominican Republic; Perth, Australia; and Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson’s private Caribbean island. It’s like a mash-up of a business conference and a kiting event.

Kiteboarding has been labeled as the new golf when it comes to networking, and according to Mens Health magazine: “It’s an open secret in the technology industry: If you want to score a deal, learn to kite board.” Who knew that Susi Mai would be the girl to spearhead such a change in the way the big wigs socialize?

Keep up with Susi by following her on Facebook here, or open most health magazines these days and you’ll find her in there somewhere!
