Watch an Insane Megaloop from Akkers Eye View
Last year, you might remember a wipeout in the Red Bull King of the Air, where a Core kite stalled at the bottom of a loop and sent its rider plummeting to the shallow water below, knocking him out and leaving every kiter on the beach cringing. That was Steven Akkersdijk, and if you don't remember that, then you'll definitely remember this loop, which he thankfully makes it out of this time, because you're about to see it from his eyes.
The way he gets the kite so far below him, and it really is BELOW him, is by using custom made short lines. 10-15m depending on his kite size, which is just long enough to get him the boost required for such a megaloop, and short enough to allow the kites loop arc to extend below him through the bottom of the kite loop.
