There's a time and a place...

There goes a kite!
There's a time and a place... And when it's a solid 20ft at Teahupoo, it's definitely not the time, or place for a 13m race kite...

Check out the video below, but there's two morals to this story. First, "If you go to chopes and it's macking, don't go in the green boat..." As Benny said on the forums.

Second, a 13m Ozone Edge isn't going to cut the mustard, especially on a twintip. Race kites are fast, but they're not as fast as a 7m surf kite in 25 knots.

That's why said kite, is probably now in about 50 pieces, and the surfer who ran into it could have been the same. Not to mention all those lines floating about in the whitewater, or the surfers laughing about how kiteboarding is a sport for monkeys.

So remember, next time you get caught out at Teahupoo with the wrong kite and light winds, remember this guy and stay on the beach. (Or in any boat other than the green one)
