The top ten kite videos of 2012 - The Kite Show

The Kite Show Xmas Special
With guest hosts Lewis Crathern, the Kite Show puts together the best ten kite movies from 2012, as well as some other goodies in their Xmas special.

You might remember Lewis Crathern as the guy who jumped over Brighton Pier a while back, or maybe as the current Red Bull Megaloop champion, but the big news is that he's just been signed to Best kiteboarding. Helping to push both the brand and their gear into the 2013 season. What's more, is Lewis spends a heap of time traveling around schools, teaching kids about wind energy and how it can not only be harnessed for energy, but used for other awesome things like kiteboarding. But back to the point, the best kiteboarding videos of 2012, in no particular order!

The Freeride Project: One of the best, if not the standout video of 2012. The UK wakestylers throw down in some amazing locations, with incredible obstacles and talent that oozes out of their bindings.

Island Time: Welcome to Antigua, home of Andre Phillips and Jake Kelsick, but don't forget the bikini girls and weather you could die for. It's living the dream for sure, and a great kite movie.

Suit Days: Alex Pastor shows how it's done in a wetsuit with NO boardies. What's going on with the world! Kiteboarders without board shorts. Unheard of...

Hawaii Sessions: Keahi De Aboitiz shows us how it's done with a surfboard. No straps. When the guys on the show say it dropped jaws, they're not kidding. We've never screamed WHAT!!!! at a computer screen in our lives, but we did when watching this...

Karolina Winkowska, South Africa: Girly without being Girly. She shows us what kiting in South Aftrica is all about, short but sweet clip with some great music to go with it.

Lost on an Island: Hannah Whitely gets lost on an Island with nothing but a few kites and the clothes she's in. Hope it doesn't get too cold... She's absolutely throwing those Wainmans around.

A Western Prospect: Changing it up from the tropical climates, this offering from Remi Meum shows us that it doesn't have to be sand, palm trees and blue water to be kiteboarding.

Drifting: Shot by Elliot Leboe, the master of kiteboarding flicks, it's hard to forget this was supposed to be part of a product shoot for Cabrinha in the Marshal Islands.

Tunnel Visions: The only wave orientated video in the list, it's one of the best examples of kitesurfing you'll find on the internet, or anywhere for that matter. Reo Stevens and Keahi De Aboitiz show us how it's done...

Tappin' and Rollin': Shot at the Triple S in the USA, this is as good as it gets for a wakestyle video. Join the US boys as they session rails, partys and hang out with some of the big names in kiteboarding.

So that's it! Check out the clips and the full episode of the Kite Show below.
