The No Contest Contest - A world first...
The forecast is a little iffy right now - but the always reliable Seabreeze graphs tell us that Saturday afternoon is going to be a nice and steady 15-17 knots from the NE, prime downwinder winds for the KBM 'No Contest Contest', what's reported to be the worlds very first downwinder kitesurfing competition.
Here's how it works according to KBM:
"It's an easy idea and easy process, We go Kitesurfing on a down wind run in groups.
The groups will be lead and on looked by a "judge" who rides down wind with his group. So far so easy?
At the end of the down winder with the help of the groups peers the "judge" makes the call on who was the stand out of his group.
We all get our own transport or bus back to the take off point.
Out of the overall groups we have a single group of "RIPPERS" that will go on a second down wind run with the "PANEL" Non Finals riders get to follow the group and do a second run.
The stand out of the "RIPPERS"group is the "WINNER"
EASY! "
Sounds like a good concept, and as long as the wind comes to the party it's going to be a great day. All you need is AKSA insurance and some experience riding in the waves. For all the nitty gritty details, check out below.
