The Richman Brothers hang out in the Hood River
Our favourite brothers are hanging out in the Hood River for some big air, a charity event and some good old fashioned freeriding.
The Hood River is not only a mecca for kiteboarding, the whole town is structured around the sport which makes it somewhat of a unique scenario. You see there’s no real beach around this place, so you’re in the middle of the USA in this dusty, dry bushland area and then boom! You hit the Hood River where everyone is sporting Slingshot t-shirts and you can see twintips hanging out the back of ute, (oh wait it’s the USA) truck trays.
Despite the cold over there right now, the Richman brothers headed to their favorite inland kiting destination for a bit of freeriding. The first ever ‘Huckfest’ was on which gave riders the chance to strap an iPhone to their wrist and see who could jump the highest. It was technically a competition that anybody could win, but in the end of course one of the pros took the crown. Although an amateur did make it right through to the final rounds!
Also happening was the Kite for Cancer charity event, which saw kiteboarders race around the river for the better part of the day to raise money for Cancer research, over $100,000 in total which is an incredible effort. The boys seem pretty stoked on the event, as well as the location of course.
Check out the video below to see how much fun these two are having!
