The KSP and PKRA are friends again

The KSP world tour
Last month, the KSP (Kite Surf Pro) released their 2011/2012 world tour schedule, with the winner being crowned world champion. Problem was, the PKRA world tour was already under way - with their winner ALSO being crowned world champ - and there couldn't be two world champs could there?

This week, after some lengthy meetings and discussions between the two organising bodies, they've agreed to work together - combining the two world tours to crown one champion at the end of the season. The KSP world tour (which only has three stops) will still have the heaviest weighting, and will ultimately determine the world champion.

The PKRA events will serve as back up events in case a KSP event cannot be run due to lack of wind (or a nuclear war, as stated in the rules). As the KSP is an invitational event only, the PKRA events will also serve as qualifying rounds, where the top riders will be invited to the next KSP events - and give those riders a chance at the world title.

There are wildcard entries available for the Kitesurf Pro tour - and applications will open after the first of June. Untill then - check your inbox, as invites will be emailed out to the worthy riders.

Keep your eyes peeled for the competitor lists, as there's sure to be a hot lineup for this one. Hopefully the event is a success - and we'll see it back again next year. Only one question remains though, what's going to happen to the PKRA now it's become the KSP's little brother?
