Summer Kicks off in Brisbane!

Don't worry - It's not really THIS good...
The season has been absolutely miserable in South East Queensland. Untill last week, I struggle to remember a day over 30 degrees, and we had one seabreeze back in early December where the wind got to the grand total of 15 knots... I don't even want to mention the floods.
That IS NOT how summer's meant to be! It's usually 20 knots 5 days a week, 9m's and 7m's get dusted off on a regular basis and the standard kite size is a 12m! Many kiters have had to buy 17m kites for their main ride this year! Untill now that is....
Weather patterns seem to be back to (somewhat) normal in South east Queensland, we're getting 35 degree days here and there, and best of all - SEABREEZES! Yesterday kicked up to 18 knots from the North east, and today looks set to hit the 20 knot mark! Add that to last weeks 35 knot South Easter that kicked up on Tuesday, and we've got ourselves a summer season! Can we look forward to a warm and windy Autumn season? We all hope so...
In contrast, it seems as though the WA season's really starting to finish up. Kitestock was windless for the first time like - ever... 17m kites dominated the skies for Hueys sake! This week looks to be full of Easterly winds and generally messy. The last week has seen averages of less than 10 knots in the afternoon, what an atrocious February! To be fair, WA's season hasn't been the best either, this La Lina stuff is awful!
So what's the answer I hear you say? I dunno! Lots of people have been occupied with either floods or bushfires trying to destroy their lives. The lucky ones have taken to paddling (of the stand up variety), others have gone back to their sailing or surfing roots. There's still plenty to do, but how good is it to be in Brisbane right now! Anyway - gotta go - I see green arrows!
