Smooth moves in Antigua

Life in Antigua...
Ah to live the Antiguan life… Lazing by the beach, pretty girls, beers and blue water. Andre Phillip could be regarded as one of the luckiest guys on the planet. If only we had his style, we too could be living the Antiguan life…

You might recognize this location from the greatest wakestyle kiteboarding movie of all time, Autofocus. This flat water lagoon is home to some pretty fancy houses, and Dre’s own personal slider park. For a kiteboarding video, it’s as simple as it gets. Take one amazing location, add one talented kiteboarder, give him a slider to play with and top it off with a quadcopter to film it all. Viola, Antiguan awesomeness. Dre is showing off what his new Slingshot RPM’s and Tona Flow can do with one short, inclined slider and a patch of flat water. If Vimeo only allowed one word for each video description, “Smooth” would suffice. It’s silky, it’s classy and you can bet half the wakestylers in the world are frantically panning around Google maps trying to find out where this place is.

Good luck guys!

Also noteworthy, is the new board Dre’s riding. The Tona Flow is about to be released and it’s the sister board to the Tona Pop. Tona burst into the wakestyle scene a few years ago with a super cheap alternative to the mainstream brands, very quickly gaining a strong following through the wakestyle only forum Kite Scoop. When Dre bought into the brand in early 2013, the question was asked if he’d have his own pro model, to which the reply was no. What’s emerged however is the Flow, which looks remarkably similar to Dre’s old pro model the Cabrinha Custom. Full details are yet to be released, but this new board could be just what wakestyle kiteboarding needs to bring it back from the freestyle/competition riding mashup it currently is…
