Slingshot - Nationals Team Report

An update from Slingshot on the Nationals at Tannum Sands...
For many years heaps of us have been making the pilgrimage to Tannum for the Easter Freeride comp hosted by the local club....this year the longer event included the Nats. The wind was a little gustier than usual and the sand had change a lot from what we normally get but strong wind and great organisation allowed for the full double elimination draw to be fully run over Wednesday and Thursday, leaving Friday and Saturday for the all-in Freeride Comp. Great fun and great riding all around. The standard of riding was totally outstanding, the riding quality continues to grow!!!
Big thanks to all those Slingshot riders who attended and for making the effort to compete at this elite event. All competed with excellence and in great spirit....contributing greatly to the positive vibe of the event. Big thanks to all those who helped setup the tents and flags daily as it really added to the professional and corporate look of the event and helped maximise the investment that Slingshot made to this event.
Huge personal thanks to Chris Wardell who stepped up at quite late notice to take everything on and totally "made it happen"! Awesome and complete job Chris, really well done!!! Supported by partner Andrea , Chris did all needed to ensure we actually did get to have a Nats for this season. As without his dedication and determination to wade through the minefield of preparation tasks that confronted him, the event would not have gotten off the ground. That's not to mention all the extra effort and time spent during the actual even to ensure all ran well. He pulled a great organisational team together to actually run the event, which included a judging team that did a superb job.....thanks to all.
As I said the riding standard was awesome!!! Team Slingshot did exceedingly well and actually after the winners side of the draw was completed our Ben Winding, Chris Wardell and Michelle England were all in first place in their divisions, with Matt Wesson, Dave Sorensen and myself all in 4th place. Three firsts wasn't to be but all riders excelled and did us very proud, competing with great skill and integrity....three seconds was outstanding!!! Many thanks to all of our Slingshot riders and supporters.
All in all a fantastic event and huge thanks to all those riders and organizers who made it so!!!
