Road trips with Keahi

Warning: This movie contains one of the best kitesurfing barrels ever seen.

Check it out - 1:05 - Keahi tucks in to a messy, but solid barrel somewhere down the South coast of Australia. Must be pretty sweet living the life of a pro kitesurfer - with nothing to do but make video's and travel to awesome locations.

Lately Keahi's been on the road a lot, from the Kiteboarding nationals up in Alva - he headed over to the Marshall Islands to film the 2012 Cabrinha range. A 12 hour flight to Hawaii, then a 10 hour flight backwards to the Marshall islands - then it was another 14 hours to get to the actual atoll they were filming.

Luckily they were on a boat with 10 of the hottest riders on the planet - because there was no wind for 10 days once they got there. Filming the trip was Elliot Leboe, (he made Autofocus) to catch all the action. You'll have to wait for the new product video's to come out so you can see the footage, but we can tell you it involves some super shallow reef, a coral head and the boys copping some pretty heavy crashes. Oh, and some SUP and kitesurfing action.

This week, Keahi's road trip (which doesn't actually take place on many roads) brings him to Hawaii - where he's been riding with Reo Stevens, Top Hat and Felix Pivec on the north shore of Oahu, where the winds been cranking this week. Yesterday they scored some wind swell at a great little break called Mokes, conditions were gusty but they were ripping with the new wave kites from Cabrinha. Reo smashed a few boards and Keahi spent a few minutes pancaked over the reef when the wind dropped out - but it was a sweet session. Today it's flattened off a little, so the boys are heading around the east side of the island to find some flat water.

What a life ey! Stay tuned for more video's and action from the man himself - He'll be releasing more video's throughout the year.
